CONFLICT OF INTEREST

1. A Member, officer, or employee of the Senate shall not receive any compensation, nor shall he permit any compensation to accrue to his beneficial interest from any source, the receipt or accrual of which would occur by virtue of influence improperly exerted from his position as a Member, Officer, or employee.

How do they get around this, the VERY FIRST RULE, under Conflict of Interest?

Do they benefit from thier PAC (Political Action Committee)??
Well, of COURSE they DO!! If they are saying that they don't benefit from campaign contributions, who are they kidding?

So far, only the Supreme Court of the United States of America (no suprise to me there)


SO... It doesn't matter which side of the issue you stand on today:

We the People MUST band together: In Order to get our message our, we must maintain our ethics, ensure a straight forward, clear and easy message. For the most part, this is a non-partisan issue, however the majority party is generally in position to define the debate in question, while the minority generally tries to block a debate using whatever they can to stall or muddy the discussion. This methodology has been used and prevailent througout the history of our country, and as we know, things that used to be unusual, both become more usual and eventually gain acceptance. I am not against progress, but progress (in my estimation) indicates movement in a forward direction. In congress, this direction (forward) should not include falsification, fabrication, fictionalization or misinformation. Clearly this is a practice that is diameterically opposed to OUR best interests.

So, why do our representation do it - it (fictionalization) does NOT run counter to their primary interest (lobby money, for re-election efforts). Understand that this method has a direct impact on their income from lobbies, special interests, or industry, simply because the lobby, special interest or industry will keep paying them, in order to "keep them" on retainer. This practice does not affect their income from We the People, so they can go home with a clear concience as they have not "bilked" us out of any money - but they have cost us representation in any case where a dollar from anyone OTHER than We the People has been accepted for any reason whatsoever!

As our congress is elected by "We the People", and we the people must provide an oath, in order to be held accountable for our testimony when we find ourselves in front of a judge or a court. I believe that our congress should also be required to take an oath to tell the TRUTH IN CONGRESS.

We the People have allowed this to go on for WAY TO LONG! I have started a Facebook Communitity Page called "Truth In Congress", join US in growing this effort. We don't have to settle for the lies and misinformation, the watered down legislation that we continue to suffer while the true rules are violated daily. We can DEMAND TRUTH IN CONGRESS!!

What other choices do we have?

Clearly, as this practice has been ongoing for quite a while (decades) we are severly limited in what we really can do. In my estimation, if we ask for them to tell the truth at the time of their campaign and election bids, they will stand fully behind this important step (as long as there is no "teeth" to this "campaign promise". However, as this is "election season", we have a unique ability to contact them, recontact them and let them know that there is a growing group of people that will fully expect them to stand up FOR this effort, or risk losing our vote in November. SO - CONTACT THEM, if you need more convincing, look to the way business is conducted on the floor of OUR congress. Watch CSPAN, CSPAN2, and CSPAN3 (for those of you that get it). Thursdays are usually the best day if you want to see real action. I have witnessed many untruths becoming promoted and even elaborated upon during these sessions of "debate", where no real debate is being held. Rather, obscene abuses of OUR time are common place where one party or the other makes outlandish statements that everyone in the room know to be false, based on agenda, and totally without value of any kind within that venue, other than to gain more money for a campaign or an election effort. It is plain and abundant, further it is unacceptable and defiles the hallowed halls of OUR congress where the American citizen's future is manipulated. Manipulation of this sociatal magnatude, had BETTER be conducted in the best interests of the society that is being manipulated, or there will become a weak society and extremeist groups will gain a firmer footing resulting in events that could be avoided - if common sense were actually common, and the best interests of the American people were held in higher esteme than the almighty campaign dollar.

It is my intention to take away the ability for lobbies and special interests to BUY our VOTE within congress. To do this WE must change the rules that govern the people that are SELLING US OUT! We MUST make them accountable for their very words within OUR congress - and be able to hurt themslves (under the law) as they have hurt us by this practice of misinformation.
